Got Muscle? BCAAs May Help you Hold on to it

BCAAs are a supplement I have recently adopted into my daily arsenal.  Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are commonly comprised of a Leucine, Valine and Isoleucine blend.  These essential amino acids supplement what the the body cannot create on its own.  I started using them when I realized that the great muscle I was building was being lost to too much cardio.  I cut back on the cardio, which solved the problem, but I also did some research on the topic.  When I learned about BCAAs’ muscle recovery and retention properties, I decided to give them a try.  I am not entirely sure if they are working, but as a woman who cherishes every ounce of muscle I build, this seemed like a good insurance policy.  I’m planning a follow up once I have more personal experience with this one.

I’ve included a mainstream overview, along with a scientific study explaining the benefits.

Now that I’ve extolled the virtues of this lovely miracle pill, I must remind you that I am in no way, shape or form a medical anybody.  Please consult with your doctor before adding this or any other supplement to your daily arsenal.

What is your take?  Are you using them?  What have you heard about BCAAs?
